Charitable Contributions

We support many worthy causes at the local, state and national level. While supporting our church, church’s related initiatives and our alumni universities are always among our priorities, we also spread our support among charities that benefit education, healthcare, military veterans, disaster relief, child welfare and those who are economically disadvantaged in our community.

A few causes are particularly important to our family. Dick's daughter and Eric's sister, Troy and her husband adopted their four children from the Ukraine and we seek ways to support adoption and the well-being of children. Amazing Adoptions and Methodist Home for Children are two such charities.

Additionally, Eric and Jenny’s son, Everett was born three months premature and we are forever grateful to the amazing care he received at UNC Hospitals.

Three charities we are highlighting currently include:

YMCA YMCA Of The Triangle:  The Southeast Raleigh YMCA

This newest center is part of a transformative vision for a 32-acre Beacon Site, which will also include a Wake County Public Elementary School, mixed-use housing and other services in Southeast Raleigh.

The Wide Open Charitable Foundation  The Wide Open Charitable Foundation:

Established July 14, 2010 in honor of William Richard Bunn, a young man who battled neuroblastoma, The Wide Open Charitable Foundation raises money for the research of neuroblastoma and other childhood cancers at UNC Children’s Hospital, while supporting children and families currently battling these diseases.

The Red Cross  The Red Cross

The Red Cross is well known for being on scene to help families and communities recover from various types of disasters. Unfortunately the need for their assistance never ceases and we feel it is important to support those in our community and across the country who endure extremely challenging situations.

Religious, Social and Cultural Involvement

Eric and Jenny are active members of Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh, where they are members of the New Life Sunday School class.

Eric and Jenny are members of North Hills Club and have served on various committees.

Eric is a former president of the North Carolina Museum of History's Young Associates and served on the North Carolina Art Museum Contemporaries Board of Directors for several years. Eric has also worked with a grass roots organization that coordinated with local and state leaders to develop more access points for the Raleigh greenway system. The group won an award from the City of Raleigh, selected out of several organizations, recognizing their efforts to improve their community.

Raymond James is not affiliated with the above organizations and/or charitable causes.
